You’ll see my smile first - and the twinkle in my eye…
The smile that greets you comes from a deep appreciation for you.
But I wasn’t always this way…
The Beginning
I was once a very traumatised adult, with a background full of emotional and physical abuse.
Life got truly frightening when I had my own children - because I could see that same abuse showing up in me: anger, resentment, entitlement, bitterness.
It was leaking into every part of my life - failed relationships at home, in work, with my children, & in intimacy.
Not Just a Mum…
I turned to self-development, desperate to understand who I was — to free myself from the limiting title of “I’m just a mum.”
I trained in Life Coaching and NLP, becoming a certified Trainer of both. But still… something was missing.
Then, while coaching at a global international company in California, I stumbled into an Emotional Intelligence course. I had no idea that day would change the course of my entire life.
Emotional intelligence showed me the truth of me — not just characteristics or skills, but how I had learned to respond emotionally to myself and others. That was the game-changer.
Fast forward a decade….
I am the founder of the School of Emotional Intelligence and Acorn to Oak Learning, and I lead a brilliant team who’ve built with me a space where people can:
Heal childhood traumas.
Prevent future childhood traumas.
Uncover their truth — not the labels given to them by others, but the facts of who they truly are.
This really is a space for people to thrive throughout their life.
My lived experiences have become my deepest credentials.
Autism to Olympian…
One of the hardest moments in my life was when my second child was diagnosed with severe autism. I was told he was non-verbal, would never go to mainstream school, would never have friends, never say “I love you,” never drive a car. I was devastated — mourning the life I thought I was entitled to.
But emotional intelligence taught me a profound truth: we are not entitled to perfection, but everything is available to us.
So I learned the autistic spectrum. I learned to speak to my son through pictures. I learned to see him — not the diagnosis.
Today, he’s nearly 17. He has lived an extraordinary life —
🏅 Men’s British Gymnastics Under-10 Elite Gold Medalist.
📚 Passed the 11+ and studied at a top grammar school.
🎓 Passed his GCSEs, thriving in college.
💬 Surrounded by friends, parties, joy.
🚗 About to start driving lessons.
What I learned is this: when you truly believe in the soul of someone — whether your child, yourself, or another — you discover a universe of magic and wonder that no diagnosis, no label, no pain can take away.
So, who am I?
I am someone who believes in your brilliance. Someone who knows you are wonder-full — full of wonder.
Mastery of emotional intelligence can transform every part of your life:
💜 Your relationship with yourself.
👨👩👧👦 Your family and children.
💼 Your career and leadership.
❤️ Your intimate relationships.
Life is richer, freer, more fulfilling — because of these learnings. And I want to share them with as many people as I can: parents breaking generational trauma, teachers raising children through EI, couples learning to truly communicate.
